Kim Porter Attempted Fake Suicide to Trick P. Diddy Into Marriage, Says Author

Most of you are probably familiar with, and extremely tired of, all the past drama between Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and his jilted baby mama and longtime girlfriend, Kimberly Porter. But, for the heck of it, let’s add some more fuel to the fire.

Best-selling author and speaker, Joy Deja King has offered up new details about Diddy and Porter’s former relationship. King is known for her young, hip and sexy novels, including her mega-popular Bitch series.

With a little prodding, King admits in a recent interview that her book Hooker to Housewife includes real-life information about the highly-publicized relationship.

In the book, the character believed to be Kim Porter used “every trick in the book, from using an industry rival to make him jealous, a fraudulent suicide attempt, to using their daughter.” In the interview, King stated that she thinks it’s “hilarious and sad” that women would go to such lengths to secure a man.

King Initially admitted that the book’s concept “came from a real chick I know who was trying to get this music mogul she shared a child with to marry her, but I was like, ‘a man is not gonna wife a ho.’” She later admitted that the characters in the book were based around Kim Porter and Sean Combs, going on to explain, “of course, I changed a lot of things but people thought she had it so good being with him. Oh, please, she was constantly playing herself! But at the same time, Puff knew what type of chick she was, so he got what he deserved.” 

This explains Porter’s statement to Essence Magazine in 2007, saying, “Puffy’s an action person, not a talk person. So I had to have an action. Telling him, ‘Babe, I’m leaving ?’ was not gonna do it.”

King also shares her own personal experience dating Diddy in college, and about how his mom, Janice Combs, freaked when she found later out. Of course, she admits, her novels are embellished for entertainment purposes, but the stories are based on real-life events she’s experienced behind the scenes in the industry.

King says she hopes that her readers can learn a little something based on the decisions her characters make.
