How does Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s new album “Uni 5: The World Enemy” sound? (11.3.09)

Cleveland Hip-Hop veterans Bone Thugs –N-Harmony are back and addition of group member Flesh N Bone makes this a reunion of sorts. The newest album titled Uni 5: The Worlds Enemy is their first off Warner Brothers/Asylum Records.
Honestly speaking, I’m not too sure my review will be accurate because after attending the listening session to review the album…I left with the impression that the tracks at the session are not the final cuts, so what I’ve decided to do is give my best effort to give a review to an album still in the works. Of the thirteen tracks I listened too – you could definitely tell that the guys put a lot of thought into creating this album. Creating new rhyming styles like “universe” in which they don’t spit 16 bars separately but all members spit enough rhymes to equal one 16 is something different but not off the wall original. For the music played – noticeable tracks like “Universe,” which used an ol’ Al Green sample, “Everytime,” “Determination” and “Let Ya Self Go,” really carried the album through. Although this is not my favorite Bone album, it’s certainly worth the purchase for true fans and a great pick up for Warner Brothers.

Hey I just want to say Bone recorded somewhere around 70-80 songs for their upcoming album and they’re coming with straight Classics, some songs that I believe they will be remembered by someday. I urge you to reconsider your ranking of this album until you actually get a sample of more than 13 songs. Please understand, I am not dissing you in any way. I just think you should consider the opinion you’re giving without knowing everything Bone has put into work. Way to spread the word about Bone though! Just know that they’re about to take over the rap/hip-hop game. That’s real. Just wait and see…
