Carlitto RossiThe catalog of cosigns that New Jersey’s up-and-coming emcee Carlito Rossi has amounted is impressive. With the likes of Paul Wall, Freeway, Chamillionaire and DJ Khalid showing Carlito love and support it’s not a matter of if, but when, will he break down Hip-Hop’s industry doors.

Straight out of Paterson, Carlito has already made his rounds on the blogosphere as well as some well known Hip-Hop magazines. Currently he’s working on his independent album “Carlito’s Way – The LP,” which Carlito promises will definitely grab the attention of all Hip-Hop heads later this year. The artist is also working with Bogish Brand Ent./Shady Records recording artist Cashis on a street album dubbed The Usual Suspects that will also be released before year’s end.

Hungry to reach rap’s pinnacle, and with the right support behind him, Carlito Rossi is definitely on his way to making a big name for himself in the future of Hip-Hop music. We caught up with the Silk City native to talk about his upcoming projects, his expectation and supporters.

HHR: What’s news Carlito? Tell the people where you’re from.
Carlito Rossi: What’s up g, I’m from Paterson, New Jersey – you already know.

HHR: Ok, I hear you. You are working on a dual street album with Shady Records’ artist Cashis entitled “The Usual Suspect.” Why that title?
CR:
Well you know Cashis was the one that actually came up with that idea as the title. They came up with the concept of doing a tape with a street cinema feel. We released the first single “Ain’t No Tellin” produced by Omega. We recently released the second single from the project and the track is called “What up” and it features Chamillionaire and is produced by Shady’s own Rikanatti. So far the project is coming out crazy.

HHR: Will all the tracks feature both of you guys on them? How is that being formatted?
CR:
Yeah, all the tracks will feature both of us. There might be one or two singles from each of us on there though.

HHR: Now you are also working on you independent release Carlito’s Way – The LP. When will that drop?
CR: My album should be dropping late this year for sure. Also expect my official third single release from the album real soon. If you didn’t know already, my first single from the album was “Life of Crimez” produced by Omega and my second single from the album was “Hater In the Club” which featured D12 and was also produced by Omega. Shouts to Omega!

HHR: What should Hip Hop fans expect to hear coming out of their speakers from this project?
CR: That real life Hip-Hop sound – that Carlito sound. All the music on there is fire so fans won’t be disappointed. I have production from Omega, I.N.F.O., So Amazin and other established producers on there. Plus the album features artists like Paul Wall, D12, Cashis, Freeway and others so you know its nothing but heat.

HHR: You’ve also worked with the likes of Chamillionaire, Freeway and Paul Wall. Is there anything you’ve picked up from those major artists which you applied to your career?
CR:
Yeah you got to be appreciative when people do things for you in the music industry. Those dudes ain’t have to jump on a track with me but they did, and if they ever need me to jump on a track with them in the future I’ll return the favor. Always stay consistent and remember that when you are on top you should still support independent artists on the come up. Shouts to all of them!

HHR: Is there anything else you have going on before the end of ’09?
CR: Nah right now I just want to get these two projects out the way. There are more projects in the works but my main focus are these two for now. I will be featured on several projects from other artists though.

HHR: Where can readers find you?
CR: Go to CarlitoRossi.com, or Google Carlito Rossi.

HHR: Any last words?
CR:
Yea shouts to HHR, big ups to SKE, Hood Stardom, Bogish Brand, JHP, John Carter, Media Starr Promotions and everybody else supporting my movement.
