It’s D.M. again. I got a chance to screen “The Longshots” starring Ice Cube and Keke Palmer. It’s a great film for the entire family. Just in time for the holidays, this picture delivers drama with a touch of humor. Ice Cube shows that he has some range on “The Big Screen” while Keke Palmer proves that she has what it takes to be a star. Special features include deleted scenes, plus conversations with Fred Durst and the real person behind the inspired story. Entertainment for “the grown folks” and education for “tha chillen.”
Although some parts are predictable, still a good “stocking stuffer.” Remember, you’re not going to see action like “Triple X” or comedy like “Friday.” This is a family film, centered on the whole family. It is a reminder that anything is possible. I look forward to seeing more work by Keke and Ice Cube playing different rolls.
