Hey, I have some exciting music news for your readers in need of a change from the norm. It’s a Hip-Hop meets Urban Desi collaboration from Wyclef Jean.

Music history was made over the summer when Wyclef Jean got together with Abhishek Bachchan – considered by many as “ India ’s Al Pacino” – to pay a tribute to Hindi cinema and to create a genuine East/West fusion of Hip-Hop. Never afraid of exploring new sounds and rhythms Wyclef’s remixed “Hollywood Meets Bollywood” from his album Carnival, Vol. 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant with Bollywood icons Abhishek and Aadesh Shrivastava, arguably India ’s best composer.

With Bollywood becoming a phenomenon in all industries including film, fashion and most prominently in the music industry, musician have been incorporating Desi beats within all music mixes – just think Jay-Z’s “Beware of the Boys” with Punjabi MC or Truth Hurts’ “Addictive” – and launches, now DesiHits.com has the exclusive one-on-one behind-the-scenes video of Wyclef discussing his motivation behind “Hollywood Meets Bollywood,” working with Abhishek and Aadesh, as well as today’s growing fusion between Hip-Hop and Urban Desi music in India and the world.

“There is a true fusion now of what we do in Hip-Hop,” says Wyclef during the in-studio interview. “I wanted to put the whole synergy of where we come from and where [Abhishek] comes from and put it on one record… [Hollywood Meets Bollywood] ain’t official yet until it’s really Bollywood Meets Hollywood.”
