Special Word from the DMV crew on the mixtape...The entire DC, Maryland & Virginia area has been a hotbed for talent for a long time, even more so recently with the success of many local talents on the national stage. The problem is, the artists that have made it have never been associated to a larger regional movement, the way it has with Houston, Atlanta and the Bay area, which makes it more difficult for other local artists to get the attention they deserve.

For this mixtape, we've teamed up with two other prominent DMV (District, Maryland & Virginia) based blogs to compile some of the best music coming out of the area each month. With it, the rest of the music community will understand what all of us in the area already know: the DMV's got next.
