Empire ISIS Nominated for Best “International Artist of Year” at the 2008 Underground Music Awards

PR – Empire ISIS will be performing at this year’s 2008 IRIE Jamboree in New York City’s at Roy Wilkins
Park in Queens (Merrick Blvd & Baisley Blvd) on Sunday August 31st, 2008. This will be Empire ISIS’ first performance at the IRIE Jamboree as she will be sharing the stage with Sizzla Kolonji, Elephantman, Tarrus Riley & Cocoa Tea.

As one the most buzzed about urban talents to be coming out of Canada, Empire ISIS has been nominated for yet another award. This is the 8th nomination ISIS has been awarded in the last 12 months. Added to her roster is best “International Artist of the Year” at the 2008 Underground Music Awards in New York City, which will be taking place at B.B. King’s Blues Club 237 West 42nd St., 6pm.

 Underground Music Awards is a national award show that breaks all of the rules of conventionalism. Every year there are incredible records released by independent labels and artists. Very rarely do the institutional accolades of the music industry reach or embrace independent music or the community of artists and fans who now represent 25% of all global music sales. Hence, the Underground Music Awards Program was born to fill that void.
