Flo’s New Shit…
Posted on Friday, March 7, 2008
Man, I tell you… I get a LOT of free music in the mail. Most of it, I simply don’t have time to listen to. A lot of it, after I listen to it, I wish I hadn’t. I feel dumber after some of that garbage. You know me. I’m no stranger to HHR. I’ve been steering you in the right direction for some time now, right? Correct me if I’m wrong! I brought you the illest review of Mood Muzik 3 ever. Nobody anywhere could touch my review. I brought you the first audio interview on the ‘net of your boy Juice reppin’ BWS and Destro can tell you how many hits that joint got. I was the one reppin’ Sha Money’s One Stop Shop conference LAST YEAR before people even knew what was up… Nuff said? Follow me…
I’m about to put you up on some new shit that you would probably never even look twice at. Seriously, I’m about to blow your minds right now… The dopest shit I’ve heard all year is…
X-Clan’s “Return From Mecca”
I shit you not family.
AND I even procrastinated on it for two weeks before I listened to it. I thought, “Man, I don’t want to hear Brother J harping on me. I bet the beats are garbage. I bet he still raps like it’s 89. I bet this shit would have been hot in 91. I’d rather watch Flavor of Love 3…” Man, I was smokin something serious with all that…
Pick it up, download it legally or just preview the shit on iTunes. Just peep it. Front to back, beats bang hard! I mean, like Dr. Dre throw away beats-hard. They have Quik on there, Focus and some other cats that just keep the funk stewing.
I’ll tell you also that I was concerned about Brother J’s growth and for the most part, he does well. He does fall back into that sing-songy “To The East Blackwards” flow and loses me sometimes with the lack of content variety, but J is like that uncle you see every year and your mom tells you to be nice and respect your elders. You don’t wanna sit there for an hour and listen but once you do, you realize how cool he is and then all of a sudden he’s your favorite uncle. That’s Brother J. That’s the dude right there… It was funny that he had a song with Chali 2na from Jurassic 5 because that’s who Chali’s always reminded me of… And Pras.
So, check this cd out. Say what you want, but you need some culture in your life. Put that Webbie cd in the shredder and bump this funkin’ lesson:

Flo has spoken… This is protected… By the red, the black, and the green… With a KEY you sissssyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
(RIP Professor X and Sugar Shaft)
